The second round of action in the Super League this weekend has thrown up one of the marquee fixtures of the season when Castlebar Celtic and Westport United meet in Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon. United opened their title defence last weekend with a 2-0 win at home to Glenhest Rovers, while Celtic spurned a 3-0 lead away to Iorras Aontaithe to finish up with just one point from their visit to Carne Nash. A large crowd gathered in the Ballina Manor Hotel, Mayo, as Pieta House launched Mayo’s Darkness Into Light 2016 (DIL 2016) series of events in association with Electric Ireland. Joan Freeman, founder of Pieta House, was joined by Kevin Molloy from Electric Ireland, former Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh, along with members of local organisations and volunteers from across the county to launch DIL which is now in its eighth year.
